Stem deleted thread

I'm wondering why the stem thread was deleted. It says for breaking talk guidelines. I posted on it and completed the questionnaire providing my contact details. Do I need to be concerned about the info I provided?

Hi there Rummikub

We deleted that thread because we don't allow people to use our boards for research purposes, which is what that thread was doing Smile

Rummikub · 05/09/2014 11:20

Oh so it wasnt a legitimate thread? How can i tell if its legitimate on future? What about my details I've provided to them? Should I be concerned?

Rummikub, in future just report such threads and don't fill in any questionnaires.

There is a forum here where MN do allow certain surveys to be carried out.

Rummikub · 05/09/2014 15:06

Thanks, I didnt realise it wasnt legit though. So how do I tell? I think I'd filled in a couple at the same time and didnt notice a difference.

I usually go through active convos rather than look for surveys.

The questionnaire/research might have been light but folk are not allowed to trawl MN for a free cohort. They have to pay, just like anyone advertising a job or a service does. It was deleted because they didn't pay, not because they were dodgy. You can tell if they have paid their dues to MNHQ in future by only responding to ads placed in the section as linked by zombie.

BucktoothedGirlinLuxembourg · 05/09/2014 15:12

Legit, not light. Stoopid iPad.

The section the thread is posted in still shows in Active, so you can tell before you click.

Rummikub · 05/09/2014 21:12

Ok thank you. I am usually very cautious. But didnt think twice about a survey about stem!
So I won't need to change my email or registration on mn?

No, I'm sure it's fine. They were just being a bit cheeky, trying to avoid the fee.

Rummikub · 05/09/2014 21:18

Ok thank you :)
I will try to maintain a more watchful approach Grin
