I am tonight getting a Formula manufacturer baby club ad on MN, yet here you claim you don't carry ads from these companies. Has something gone wrong or has there been a policy change?

Hi

I'm a newish member and I don't understand the no formula ads thing. Can anyone explain it to me. I see it referenced from time to time but I don't really know why.

No policy change WaxyDaisy, this one clearly bypass our existing filters. I will investigate and block the ad/advertiser when I find it and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Thank you :-)

Hi Flossy,

Please see this link for further info and also there are World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines on the advertising of breastmilk subsitutes here

Many thanks Rebecca. I was always worried about saying the wrong thing on a thread where it is being discussed Smile

Waxy, that ad is on an 'Ad Choice' link - for want of a better expression.

Therefore they are not paying for advertising space on Mumsnet, and MNHQ struggles to 'chase' these ads around the site. Many Ad Choice ads (which are linked to Google) actually appear because of your own Google searches.

MNHQ is very good at blocking them - but they can only do do if we tell them about it.
