Apologies all - it appears we have a problem accessing topics at the moment. We will fix asap (as soon as Tech surfaces from his slumber that is, though sadly, as he's on NY time at the moment, that might be a wee while). In the meantime please feel free to hurl abuse at him .

oliveoil · 20/09/2006 10:04

I wanted to start a thread in Chat but it wouldn't let me if I just clicked the Topic, so I clicked on an existing thread and then clicked the Start a New Conversation button and it did

Also, when did we get the scepitcal emoticon? That is my main expression! I like that one v much

coppertop · 20/09/2006 10:05

ROFL at Furball.

I read this as Tech Hitched and thought it was going to be a surprise announcement.

JustineMumsnet · 20/09/2006 10:05

You can start a thread - what you need to do is to log onto a thread in the topic you want from active conversations/ last hour links then post on "click here to start a new conversation" link at the top of the thread.

OP posts:
oliveoil · 20/09/2006 10:06

I just said that!

Mercy · 20/09/2006 10:06

Well spotted oliveoil - are you the first one to use it?

not convinced that clicking on start a new conversation works either at the moment..unless it is just me getting some message about syntax?

Cool - a genuine reason to use the new emoticon!!!

JessaJam · 20/09/2006 10:24

Oh...no...it does work, i was just being dense!
Still - I got to use the new emoticon
