Just to let you know, I just clicked on Active Convos and got this pop up.

I understand it rears its ugly head from time to time.

Using Google Chrome on a PC and I don't get any other pop ups from anywhere else.

This is a Survey from Nielsen who are checking the effectiveness of adverts which YOU have been shown over the past few months.

This is shown when you are on the Mumsnet site due to Mumsnet displaying adverts which are provided by 3rd party ad networks. Mumsnet does not have any control over this and the survey could have appeared on numerous other sites you may visit which display advertising.

"Nielsen Online Brand Effect records how many times a Nielsen Online Brand Effect-tagged advertisement was displayed on a browser with a Vizu cookie, how many different ads in a particular campaign were shown to a viewer, and on which websites the advertisements were seen."
"Nielsen Online Brand Effect uses cookies with a unique identifier to record whether an advertisement was displayed on a particular browser and whether a person using that browser answered a survey about that particular advertising campaign."

You can read more about what data is collected and you can opt-out, details are at VIZU.com Privacy Policy. That page has at the bottom of it an Opt-Out button which will add a Do-Not-Track cookie to your browser, it will only apply to that particular browser not to everything you use.

Far easier in my view to just the click the X on the Survey to close it and carry on Mumsnetting Smile

Oh, thanks for that nannynick Smile

I was afraid it was something that was going to keep popping up every five minutes!

I agree, it's much easier to click the X and carry on if it's not likely to keep coming back.
