Retirement

Is there a section of the site that deals with retirement? We are all going to face it at some point and it is a major rite of passage but yet it doesn't get much of a mention that I can find.

Any chance of setting it up?

An excellent idea.

Fideliney · 23/06/2014 05:47

Great idea. Needs to be planned for as well as dealt with when you arrive there

Bowlersarm · 23/06/2014 06:07

Yes please mnhq.

Not quite 50 yet, but time goes by so fast......!

It's important to plan, especially financially, and would be great to have a dedicated topic to post in/read/gather info and ideas from.

Fideliney · 23/06/2014 06:14

And we could have another joined up thread with gransnet like the menopause one.

NoEgowoman · 23/06/2014 06:34

Yes please. Need to start planning.

JustineMumsnet · 23/06/2014 09:24

No problem, we'll get one set up soonest. Thanks for the suggestion and input all.

Hi all,

This has been done for you now.

Feel free to run around in the lovely empty topic and create some conversations. If there are any active conversations that you would like us to move over there, then please do report them and we will.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 23/06/2014 10:37

Brilliant idea. It had never occurred to me that there was no retirement topic. Thanks MNHQThanks

I've just been over to the new thread but it's untouched so far and I'm too shy (and woefully ill prepared) to start it off. But I'm sure it will soon be buzzing.

Definitely would welcome this topic, DH is retiring from main job and setting up as a part time consultant, he is of pension age and needs to take state pension to tide him over, I am younger and my retirement age is 10 years away. Have already come across loads of things I would welcome input on.
