Emirates pop up when in Active threads

Why did I get a full blown Emirate pop up come up on my screen whilst viewing active threads?

Ironically at the time I had just opened up a thread called something like Pemium Economy and Economy mix up on the Active threads list.

Is this a new way Mumsnet are advertising?

I have had a pop-up ad come up on a couple of random threads, and I wonder if this was the same thing. First time I just clicked onto another screen before it loaded, second time I decided to wait but it never actually seemed to load anything. Mumsnet is running slow for me so I don't know if that's why - I took a screengrab anyway, it's not particualrly useful but you can see just about see the two grey curved shapes which rotate to show it's loading something. It is very intrusive!

No - it certainly isn't, and it shouldn't be happening! If you see it again, can you grab a screen shot and send it to us? This way we can track the ad down and block it.

It's done it again, it is Emirates - see screengrab.

Thanks, BigfootFiles - we'll flag it to our Tech folk.

It happened to me recently too. I realised it was when I'd hovered my cursor over the ad - but not clicked on anything - and the pop-up appeared.

I expect Tech has fixed it now though!

KateSMumsnet · 11/06/2014 09:55

Has this pesky ad been seen again?

FruVikingessOla · 11/06/2014 11:23

No, I remembered seeing it at the end of last week/over the weekend - by which point you'd probably already flagged Tech.

Hurrah!
