So, is no one talking about the urinary incontinence case study email?

Has anyone else signed up to take part?

I've had a look in obvious topics (health, site stuff, campaigns, surveys) and can see other stickies like the peri-menopause one, but nothing about this case study. Nada, zilch, nothing.

I'm thinking that's rather missing the point?

What's this about then? I've not seen an email but I'd be interested in finding out more/taking part

LackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2014 18:44

It was an email from the MN panel, where you sign up to be part of testing etc.

Maybe they just want to talk to meeee...they don't call me "wee" daisy for nothing Grin

No idea what you are on about.

Sorry!

DwellsUndertheSink · 03/06/2014 20:12

i got an email, but not prepared to be filmed talking about my damp drawers, thank you.

Probably because I am a woman of a certain age with 5 kids....clearly my pelvic floor is shot to pieces!

WhispersOfWickedness · 03/06/2014 20:12

I've had the email! I said to DH that is the first time I have been genuinely pleased not to be eligible for a Mumsnet test Grin

smokedgarlic · 03/06/2014 20:24

But why the devil would I want to be filmed as if it's some particularly humiliating episode of Embarassing Bodies. Pretty sure the kids wouldn't thank me either.Sorry it's too personal for £300 !

LackaDAISYcal · 03/06/2014 21:21

I want to know more about what the being filmed involves too. If it's I have a problem and I use this product (I suspect it will be heavily endorsed by one of the big manufacturers) then I'm happy with that.

Mind you, I'm still getting comments from people about a breastfeeding promo thing I did five and a half years ago as they still show it on the local NHS channel in doctors surgeries.

I feel quite strongly about raising awareness of incontinence issues, especially as it is very difficult to get past the "10 PFE's per day and it'll all be reet" health care professionals. Like a lot of healthcare problems (and as our very own gussiegrips says, it's a feminist issue), if it was 1 in 3 men with a degree of incontinence, there would be more help available.

I've been on the treatment treadmill for over five years, had three lots of pelvic floor physio, and am no closer to getting it resolved. If this helps people talk about it, then all to the good.

This thread has just reminded me about my PFS's...

Done.

This is something being run by our lovely Insight people, so we've asked them for a bit more info about what's happening with this study - will update you guys asap Smile.

AnnMumsnet · 04/06/2014 11:24

Hiya - nothing is on site about this one Lacka - as you say it's just been sent to the MN and GN panels. Glad you're so keen - we think it's also a good project to help other folks. If you're shortlisted then you can chat about the filming element with the team : am sure they will be very kind. Smile.
ShakkaKhan - shall I send you the info?

ShakkaKhan · 04/06/2014 11:37

Yes please Smile

LackaDAISYcal · 05/06/2014 01:21

Thanks Kate and Ann :)

Once it's up and on the site, I'm sure more people will sign up. I'll post a link on the relevant long running threads in health as well.

LackaDAISYcal - thanks - not going up on site at all...we have had a lot of folks interested - if anyone reading this would like to be sent info please PM me. There's still some time (just!)

LackaDAISYcal · 05/06/2014 12:38

Oh, OK Confused Not entirely sure how not putting it on here is going to raise awareness with the people most likely to need help, but I'm sure the Insight Panel have their reasons!

I'll wait with bated breath and crossed legs Wink
