Adv. Search, titles, finding OPs

Has it changed? How do I find threads started by a particular poster? I used to put their name in the 'posted by' box, choose Search & display titles, and presto! Now I just get 0 results even though I'm looking at a thread started by that poster on another tab!

I've just searched myself Jux and got results, so I don't think it's broken . Have you toggled the date?

I haven't touched the date at all, nor the topics list. I just put a name into the posted by box, chosen the thread titles option from the drop down box and then clicked search. Strange. I'll try it on my name.....

Well, it found lots of threads started by me, but you have a linky thing for that anyway. I have checked with a few random names and it mostly does work.

Are Relationships threads exempt? That would explain the one I was searching for which gave rise to my question here, perhaps all of them. However it's hard to believe that most of the people who've come up with 0 Results have only ever started threads there.

The advanced search does have form for playing up, so we'll double check it's not up to any of its usual tricks.

That's what comes of pouring gin down the server. You should stick to for that!

Just searched for threads started by R ubbish cook60 (without the spaces). 0 Results. There is one in WWYD.

Also, sometimes when you choose Search Titles the heading above the poster name field changes to "And were started by" but sometimes it doesn't. Doesn't make a difference to the search results though.

Its been broken for ages, since the Heartbleed thing I think. Returns 0 results every time I try to search 'threads started by'.

But it seems intermittent, qwerty. Yesterday sometimes it worked.

Mind you, you could do worse than scrapping the entire thing and starting from scratch again, MNHQ. The topics thing is vile beyond belief! Was OK back in the day, but there has been a proliferation of topics over time and now it is just horrible.

While we're here, can I put a bid in for having search topics arranged like they are on the Talk page? Headings, then sub-headings? Local is a nightmare to scroll through. And I've never got the Favourites thing to work either to Save or to Load, but always assumed that that's because I don't do it right.

Of course, I know none of you have anything actually important to do
