Hi. I've just had an e-mail asking me to put myself forward for a school uniform test but the e-mail says 'from root user'. Is this from you guys or am I being scammed. It signs off MNHQ but looks a bit different.
Thanks

Oh, heck. I didn't notice the root user bit, and have applied. Is it legit, MNHQ? Or should I change some info somewhere?

Hello - we'll have a look and come back to you.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 29/05/2014 10:03

Ive got one as well.

WildThong · 29/05/2014 10:12

Me too

I thought it looked a bit different

RowanMumsnet · 29/05/2014 10:13

We've checked and it's legit. We're not sure why it's saying 'root user' but it's definitely us. Sorry for the kerfuffle.

I was just about to ask about this, thanks for clarifying it really is you. :)

throckenholt · 29/05/2014 11:35

root user is the default system administrator with linux servers. So the program that is sending out the mail is sending it as that user - your techs should be able to sort it.

lettucesoup · 29/05/2014 11:42

I got one as well, straight into my spam box!

Rainicorn · 29/05/2014 15:57

Was just about to start a thread about this. Thanks for clearing it up.
