Side adverts on Active?

Anyone else getting the white space at the side filled with the cookery book advert? It's really distracting, particularly on the left, as the social media links are still there...

hate them. really distracting.

MardyBra · 19/05/2014 15:48

In fact, they're doing my head in - about 2/3 of the page is adverts now, so I'm logging off.

AmyMumsnet · 19/05/2014 16:09

Hi all,

Sorry to hear you're finding them so distracting. We try to make sure our adverts don't detract from the talk boards but we think our cookbook is really rather great and we wanted to get the word out about it.

We do take into account your comments when deciding on adverts, and we'll bear them in mind in future.

WipsGlitter · 19/05/2014 16:15

Agree this is really annoying! Wouldn't mind if it was static but hate that it follows you down the page!

AmyMumsnet · 19/05/2014 16:35

I have just been informed by a very helpful source rowanmumsnet that you can also hide the social media share buttons via customise if you're using MN new.

When I click I'm on or I'm watching on the banner it takes me to the Amazon site on the cook book page. It doesn't happen with the static I'm on and I'm watching links. I am using Firefox and Vista.

MardyBra · 19/05/2014 18:40

Seriously Amy, we could hardly miss the cookbook. It's been discussion of the day for a week, the link to the sponge pudding vid is to my right as I write, and there are stickies in Chat and goodness knows where. I feel like the flipping cookbook is being rammed down my throat. Wink

There's another thread about the same thing.

I think we all get the message about the cookbook, so please get rid of the side adds now.
