Is taking up a lot of room, and because of its position, you can't click on the back arrow to return to 'active threads' when you've read the one you're on.

A little cross has come up a couple of times meaning I've been able to close it. Not sure how I got it though.

Everyone should have a little cross, so you should be able to get rid of it if it's annoying you

I press the cross and it takes me through to the ad. Great.

iPhone 4S. In fairness, I've never seen the ad again since I first posted, so maybe it was a glitch.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. It's happened to me twice.

REALLY sorry to ask but are you absolutely sure you're hitting the cross and not the ad itself?

We're only asking because two MNHQers have had it pop up on their mobiles this morning, and when we hit the cross (which could take a couple of stabs to get right) it did disappear [ducks]

I can hit the little cross. I am very dexterous

However it scares the shit out of me as the Postman Pat on it looks deranged. Can you remove it for that reason please?

If I were to accept the premise that I have fat fingers was operating MN under the influence might have mis-pressed on a number of occasions, I would defend myself by saying that on a phone screen it is a very big advert and a very small cross .

Also v much agree re deranged Pat. Although now I know he's really Stephen Mangan I could get used to him [dreamy emoticon]

Hmm. Just tried it very carefully with my smallest finger and it still took me through to the ad. It's not that persistent that it's a massive deal though.

It came back, so I very carfully clicked on the cross, and it took me through to the main ad See! I don't have fat fingers!

I turned my phone to landscape and the cross worked! Maybe that's the solution?

When I clicked on the cross just now, nothing happened. The ad neither opened or closed. I had to navigate away from the page I was on.

I haven't had any problems closing it before now.
