Some "quirks" on Local ?

Sorry, if this is old news, on the list, or whatever... I have been dipping in on MN less than daily, and not to Site Stuff much in some months.

I wonder if there are some gremlins in the code for some parts of Local.

I was just looking at Liverpool "add listing" and I noticed three items down the vertical list are "odd" in showing a possible "menu" but it being blank one liner (ie a simple bar with no text, whereas the true menus above may have 5 or more items in a list).

The three I am on about are immediately above 'Add an Advertisement' (which is missing an image).

Also navigation links across the bottom have a bug quirk in that they show local.mumsnet.com....
and don't work. OK, I'll say it bug ! :)

Further Query: Do you really not have a local Liverpool Editor (and if so, why do you not show that in some way on the Local page, where it has the intro from the blonde sunglasses-wearing lady... with no name.

How about saying "I'm the stand-in editor from Mumsnet, but if you are local to the area, keen, and want to be Editor, please ... (link for how to get in touch)". Seems daft to see an 'Editor' with no mention that you are actually looking for one (which was visible on the Add a listing page, but not mentioned on the front page for the area, AFAICS).

Just another note re Local - some of the promo text (eg East Sussex) on *> Find a Local Site

(and yes, I know you are busy, need volunteers for some things, etc, but comments intended as only constructive criticism, and will add to the site working / looking better, I hope.)

Nearly 11 so have Brew and some chocolate Biscuit in MN towers as we do appreciate the hours put in by HQ staff...

Hi NG,

Thanks for the feedback, duly noted.

The new local homepage actually only went live on Friday so there are a few 'quirks' at the moment that we are ironing out. Please do feedback, it's always helpful.
