Bloomsbury won't sell me the recipe book

it insists I am in the US. I have registered an account with them, saved my address, including the fact that it's a UK one, set the site to 'uk', turned off geo location on my browser, rebooted, all to no effect. Big red bar at the top of the screen tells me "you are located in United States and unfortunately we do not have rights to sell the book".

Anybody else getting this, or any ideas how I can fix it?

I'd order it from a different site but I want to use my tester's discount voucher and I'm assuming it only works at this one site.

Have you cleared cookies, set your browser to private, etc?

Do they have a contact email that you could use?

ControlGeek · 08/05/2014 20:43

Thanks, I've tried both of those things on a browser I hadn't previously used but still the same red bar at the top when I click on 'buy'. I'll try emailing Bloomsbury in case there's something at their end they can do, or suggest.

How odd.

I suppose if they can't come up with anything, could you give someone else your discount details and get them to order for you?

Although hopefully the company will sort it out for you.

Where in the UK do you live that is being confused with the US? Grin

ControlGeek · 08/05/2014 20:48

Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire?! Grin

The odd thing is the site is defaulting to the UK site, and it recognised my address on the account as being UK based!

I've sent them a message, hopefully they can get back to me with an answer. Otherwise I'll see if one of my mn friends can use my code for me.

odd glitch. Hope that it gets sorted out for you.

Do you know it's actually cheaper on a website called Speefy Hen (if you factor in the Bloomsbury postage charge) even with 50% off.

RidgyTipper · 08/05/2014 20:54

Whoops - Speedy Hen!

ControlGeek · 08/05/2014 20:55

Ahhh thanks for the tip Ridgy, I'll check that out!

Hmm this is odd ControlGeek - do you want us to pass it on to Bloomsbury to ask them to take a look?

Thanks for buying it though Grin

ControlGeek · 09/05/2014 20:56

Thanks RowanMN, but I've ordered from Speedy Hen now and have had a 'dispatched' email (already!) so will hopefully get this tomorrow or Monday from them.
