um just do the reset as mentioned at top of page.

I would hope that, when they get a spare minute, MNHQ would contact, where possible, anyone on the list to advise them of that fact and warn them if they've used a password elsewhere. (I'm sure they have it safe somewhere.)

GiddyUpCowboy · 12/04/2014 19:59

There was some list on some site with certain people's details and passwords.

If you are worried about if your login info is out there have a look at

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 12/04/2014 20:01

There was a list. if MNHQ has been hacked it is reasonable to assume they have all active users details.

No, I was asking about the list out there on some site where some mnetters usernames and passwords have been published, apparently we are getting emails if we are on the list.

thanks I name change though, I guess they have gone after the most recent nn's?

They could have taken out a bit of the passwords, not on people may use the same password for a few sites.

Hmm

Seriously was a list published somewhere ?

cozietoesie · 12/04/2014 21:58

Apparently so.

GiddyUpCowboy · 12/04/2014 21:58

Yes, someone sent me a link. MNHQ are emailing those who were on the list. It had some of their username, email and passwords, it was only a short list and one prolific poster.

PS - but that needn't have been gathered from Heartbleed of course - just posted online at an opportune moment. There are a lot of lists knocking around out there: some for sale, some for sharing, some collected inadvertently, some collected to prove a security point, some...................and so on. It's a jungle.

RandallFloyd · 12/04/2014 22:24

If you just follow the links and change your password then it doesn't matter if you're on a list or not.

If you really want to find out more a quick google will give all the info you need and more.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 12/04/2014 22:32

Agreed. Whether you are on that list or not all you need to do to deal with it is change your MN password and change the password for any other sites that you may have used the password for.

Having your MN password leaked is probably not a big issue unless you have used this password elsewhere.
