Morning all,

So today's the day , we have the Gin and Cake at the ready and five lovely MNetters are coming in for a visit.
CecyHall , ChaosTrulyReigns, PotatoPolly, FaceLikeAFriendlyApple and Solo will be joining us between 10am and 3pm today.
Sadly Nevergoogle, at 38 weeks, didn't want to risk a live birth thread Grin and Hansolo had an unbreakable appointment but we hope they will watch on with interest.

We will pop back to this thread throughout the day and update what they are up to and they may very well post too.

If you have any burning questions about MNHQ then please do post and we will try and answer them.

"Justine did drop her phone down the loo though."

What did Justine do? Did she follow the MN Rules of bunging it into a bowl of rice to dry out?

Also, Chaosy, what colour is their front door?!?!

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/03/2014 19:33

Zombie I knew we should have staged a commando,pop-up infiltration with magi!

BelleOfTheBorstal · 26/03/2014 19:40

I think we need an observer, like the UN sends into delicate situations, to report on details such as Justine dropping her phone down the toilet. If it wasn't for the open day, none of us would ever have known.

MimsyBorogroves · 26/03/2014 19:41

SO jealous!

Troll rhymed with doll when I was younger, but I always think of internet trolls as rhyming with doles - possibly because I can't fathom wrinkly people with crazy hair sitting under bridges.

Hull rhymes with dull. Unfortunately.

Facelikeafriendlyapple · 26/03/2014 19:50

I'm very sorry but I don't know what Justine did to salvage her phone. She took off at a gallop down the street to escape from the rain. It's not all gin and cake at MNHQ y'know. There's inclement weather to deal with too.

It's t-roll btw. As in doll. settles matter once and for all

Facelikeafriendlyapple · 26/03/2014 19:52

Front door to office building is smart glass affair (staffed by slightly scary security guard) Front door to MN office is a tasteful royal blue.

HTH.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/03/2014 19:56

I hope Chaos isn't abandoned on a park bench somewhere.

NymodigFruOla · 26/03/2014 20:13

Chaos must have had to get a Big Train home in order to "feed her children" Grin

magimedi · 26/03/2014 20:20

Zombie I knew we should have staged a commando,pop-up infiltration with magi!

We will, we will - only we will take 'em unawares!

IamtheZombie · 26/03/2014 20:26

Grin Grin Grin

IamtheZombie · 26/03/2014 20:27

Fru could come with us too.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/03/2014 20:59

Safety in numbers Wink

NymodigFruOla · 26/03/2014 21:18

Zombie, this morning YoniMatopoeia and I were planning on getting on the tube to gatecrash today's Open Day Grin

But I'd be happy to join you and magimedi for a staged commando, pop-up infiltration at some point!

IamtheZombie · 26/03/2014 21:27

OK, so...

Zombie
Bee
magi
Fru
Yoni

Sounding good! Grin

Solo · 26/03/2014 22:39

Bummer! posted on the wrong thread der...

Solo · 26/03/2014 22:44

C&P'd from t'other thread. I'm no good with the whole mobile Mumsnetting thing, hence the lack of on the spot reporting!

Was a really good day! MNHQ is full of gorgeous and stylish people (no, really!) and everyone was very welcoming! There were plenty of yummy home baked cakes... chocolate cakes!! I didn't try them Sad but secretly hope that Kate will post some out!! Wink
There was a large bottle of gin on the desk next to one of the ahem, staff members .

The mostly open plan office is very busy and it's amazing the amount of work that is going on.
Patrick was very informative and very stylish handsome too!

Lunch with Justine, Rebecca and Rachel (I hope I've remembered your name right!) was fab, with lots of conversation, but I was cursing my deafness a bit and I apologise if I answered a question wrong! typical thing for me to smile and nod inappropriately Blush, but I did hear most of the conversation ~ honest!

It was lovely to meet the other 3 Mumsnetters and there was a funny moment when two of us seemed to recognise one another, but neither of us knew how! I still don't!

Anyway, thank you MNHQ for allowing us into your world of work, I for one had a lovely time!

Ps. Rebecca, I think we must have missed one another as I popped to the ladies before leaving. It took me 2 1/2 hours to do a 35 minute (according to the SatNav) journey Shock. Ah well! totally worth it! Grin

Solo · 26/03/2014 23:03

The biggest bit of goss I can give is that Rebecca and I were perving over the salad guy and I accidentally said something in reply (to something naughty that Rebecca said) along the lines of "has he got a coke..." it was coke not cock never said cock on Mn before!!! Grin baaaaaaad Solo!!!

IamtheZombie · 26/03/2014 23:20

Are we back to discussing the correct pronunciation of an "o" in any given word?

Zombie may have met Rebecca at a meet up and may have photographic evidence.

Ahem. Peace & love.

Solo · 26/03/2014 23:33

It's trole like pole. Troll.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/03/2014 23:40

Solo sweetheart, thank you, hope you got home safely.

But someone.please, we I need details.

What was the conversation about?

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 26/03/2014 23:57

I think that norty Zomb was talking about coke and cock Grin

HanSolo · 27/03/2014 00:02
Envy

Glad you all had a lovely time!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 27/03/2014 10:44

It was a great and hectic day! The other MNers were fab.

I couldn't believe how many MNers there were - banks and banks of them. One of them smelled divine, but Rebecca and Kate weren't sure whi she was! There's people joining all the time.

I've put a few faces to names which is very useful. There is a happy buzz in the office and I'm not entirely convinced it's all gin related. Wink

Didn't notice the loo brushes, sorry.

JustineMumsnet · 27/03/2014 12:34

It was troll, as in doll (my entirely correct pronunciation) VS trole, as in dole (RebeccaMumsnet's completely mistaken pronunciation)

Very lovely to welcome such a lovely bunch of Mumsnetters to MNHQ (thanks for all your great suggestions which we'll follow up on). Will definitely do it again soon.

Sparklingbrook · 27/03/2014 13:23

I want to know more about hot tech guy.
