Sorry, HQ, but ditch the Haven wrap around advert. Zombie literally can barely read posts on the site now.

It's dreadful, I hate how it looks. Like Zombie I can hardly read the posts with the new ads.

Absolutely agree with Zombie.

depending on which internet browser you use, you could download an add on such as adblock, with it you don't see any advertising at all, this leads to a completely "clean" page. I use adblock with firefox if that helps

Brik, Zombie HAS adblock for Firefox. She has had for years. It doesn't block this though.

Okay so I've added adblocker onto firefox and it's doing nothing. All the ads are still there. What am I doing wrong?

crikey okay, that's a little confusing, I have the same settings and there's no sign of the ad. would it be worth checking that the software is up to date and fully enabled?

Zucker, if you've only just added it you may need to close Firefox and then open it again to activate adblockplus.

Brik, Zombie keeps it updated and fully enabled.

ohhh hold the phone, I had to individually add them to the filter and hey presto they're all gone. Lovely and shiney again

glad it's working for you zucker, it was a bit of a revelation when I first started to use it, everything indeed looks so shiny and clean!

the adblock toolbar may offer some additional options to individually filter but if not, I'm no expert so can't offer other solutions, hopefully the chaps at MNHQ will be along shortly with an alternative

The ads are hurting my eyes. They've just appeared this evening.

And I have another thread here on Site Stuff with a problem I am having trying to PM people -- I get taken to a Haven / Mumsnet page when I click 'send' or press 'enter' anywhere in a PM. The PMs are lost in space. I mention that here because it's Haven ads that are making my eyes itch on the margins of my screen.

and everytime i click on Active convos on the talk bar I get taken to Haven site.... it's happened about 15 times now..... sooo annoying!!

I can zoom in so, although the words are annoyingly large, the sides disappear. MNHQ, I know it's a free site and you need to make money for gin and biscuits but it is horrible. I clink on a link every now and then to make you some moolah so can't we just agree to do that and lose the sidebars?
