I'm new and really lost. Do you have a conversation thread? Should I start a new persons thread? (I just have, eek!) Please direct me to easiest use of this forum tactics, as I'd like to get in the swing of it. :D Please!

Start a chat thread . Welcome to Mumsnet, I don't post all the time, but love lurking in the shadows. I live in the USA but am English.

SaintGeorge · 16/08/2006 21:09

Hello and welcome.

If you want to start an introduction thread, pick topics from the top line then Member Profiles. Best place to do it and you can add a pic if you are brave

Otherwise use 'all topics' or one of the other options on the same line to see what the current conversations are. Best thing is just to dive in.

Trippitaka · 16/08/2006 21:09

Thank you. I'm finding it quite confusing as it has a helluva lot of options.

Weclome. I post a fair bit but still quite unknown in the grand scheme of things!

Just click on "active conversations" at the top and find a topic that interests you to add something to.

Or, say hello on the Member Profiles topic section. You can even upload photos.

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 21:12

Hi Trippitaka, welcome to Mumsnet.

Barbie7 · 16/08/2006 21:12

Hello! I also just joined today! Maybe we could help each other figure this place out!

Ponka · 16/08/2006 21:13

There you go, Trippitaka! You've got your own thread already

moretenaanyone · 16/08/2006 21:15

We are all very friendly here.

My way of looking up the threads when I log in is to go to the active conversations to see whats what. Click on all topics.

You have probably already worked that out and I'm being stupid.

Oh and Hi to you all BTW.
.

Trippitaka · 16/08/2006 21:18

Oh no, you're not being stupid at all, moretea :D I can use all the help I can get. And hello Barbie7 . It's quite nerve-wracking starting out.

Welcome to our World and enjoy

Im just going to do a quick hijack (this means interupting your posting for a quick chat with someone else I might have the need to talk to quickly)

OYE moretena, you better watch yourself if you're trying to impersonate me. I will dash you wit water if you dont change that name!!!!

Interruption over, please carry on.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/08/2006 21:21

Welcome

moretenaanyone · 16/08/2006 21:21

Since you asked so kindly I will now return to my former name of moreteaanyone.

The trampoline incident is now fading in my mind and my fear of pissing myself is easing so changing back to offering people moretea shouldn't be too much of a risk.

Tenalady · 16/08/2006 21:29

OOOOH I nearly got to 3!!!!

I wouldnt mind a cuppa though all the same.

moreteaanyone · 16/08/2006 21:33

Milk and sugar?

Trippitaka · 16/08/2006 22:01

Ooops, I misread. Your name reminded me of the catchphrase "more tea, vicar?" - although in truth, I can't remember where that came from, either. :O
