A flaw in your technical system?

Just to let you know of a flaw?

I can post as Twintery and twintery

I did it by accident as when I namechanged, I forgot I was Twintery with the capitol T so came back as twintery.

Maybe it is not a flaw?
But it would explain, maybe, how someone was able to impersonate the poster sp as she was, and badly troll her on mumsnet by just altering one of the letters of her long username.

So maybe, anyone can change any of our names by 1 letter, and use them?

I think the names are not case sensitive.

But you'd need to actually change a letter to register as a near copy of an existing user name.

Thank you for replying.
But sorry, I dont understand what you have posted.

It means that you are the only person who can use either Twintery or twintery. So no trolling possible, someone would need to change at least one letter for that to be an option.

No one except you can post as Twintery or twintery. But someone could register as Twimtery (or twimtery) and people might not notice at first that it wasn't you.

Oh I see, that makes sense. Thanks.
