Posting articles from a pay wall newspaper?

Is this allowed or will it cause copyright trouble for MN?

I subscribe to The Times & wanted to copy & post an article from there on a thread I was on.

I haven't done so & have PM'd it to a couple of people, but I wondered if I could have don this?

I might be wrong, but if you post a link from a paywall newspaper and the person that clicks on the link doesn't subscribe, then you don't get anything anyway - apart from the home page?

Not posting the link, but copying and pasting the relevant article & posting it on a thread.

Ah, sorry, I see Blush

It's not allowed, magi. There was a thread fairly recently where someone did that and HQ had to remove the post.

Hello

We tend to delete these when they're reported to us, because posting up an entire article from a paywalled paper/publication isn't really 'fair use' in copyright terms. It's OK to quote a few lines, but if we receive a complaint about C+Ping the entire article we do take the post down.
