New section on special needs section

Would anyone be interested in having a new board within special needs called information sharing. That would allow specific information (eg from blog posts that are information rather than comment or Carers UK recent document on the financial stituation) be shared . It would also allow students such as OTs to come and ask some of their questions without breaking the rules.

By separating it, everyone would be very clear on what it was and could chose to interact with it or not. It could also act as a great reference point especially for new folk .

Well, if mnhq created it, I doubt that I would ever check it, so I don't see the point, because I'm sure I'm not alone, there.

What would be the point? We share information as needed already, we don't need a separate section to do that.

And personally I'm not a fan of blogs so I'd definitely be against any influx of bloggers into this section.

Professionals have always been welcome on mnsn and students requesting research material quite rightly have to apply to mnhq to use mn as a resource, why should a sensitive topic like mnsn be the exception?

I agree. With polter,ouryre and summer. There is already loads of sub sections - too many I (and others feel) creating more will be counterproductive.

Being new to MNSN I feel there is already lots of information sharing. Done in a kind and empathetic manner. MNHQ also has links to other helpful sites which we can look at. TBH those most of the information I've looked at on the web has been suggested to me in the pub.

I agree with what everyone else has said. Can't see any need for the type of sub section you're suggesting.

I agree too. I only ever look in sn chat and sn children like lots of other mnsn posters. It would be another wasted board.

Poltergoose. Apart from one occasion, I have always found the people on the forum to be helpful, kind and thoughtful in everything they say. I read the boards regularly and you are correct I don't post a lot but do if I can bring something to what has already been said.

You know, you could have popped into the Goose and Carrot and had a chat to see how people felt about it first.
Might have been more polite, or friendly or something.

So you haven't got a clue that the regulars have been discussing reducing the number of boards in that section?

Sonicfif - I remember your amazing dd on a thread about her communication device. It was amazing to see her be given a voice.

I do think there needs to be less subsections to the sn boards, especially in light of recent wrangles over the boards about sections being ignored, and people not knowing where to post.

However, I do actually think a link or sticky at the top highlighting some of the fantastic sn blogs would be good.
