on all press artacles/news progs it has been said that "lawyers were not available for comment". Why not?

taken them by surprise? or planning something savage?

Quootiepie · 08/08/2006 15:00

i think possibly they thought we'd lie down and take it. They're stunned.

wannaBe1974 · 08/08/2006 15:02

can't help wondering if it's the calm before the storm.

If I were a nobody I'd be really rather embarrassed by all the fuss I'd made...

NotQuiteCockney · 08/08/2006 15:04

Unless you were a nobody with a book to promote?

flossam · 08/08/2006 15:05

I'd also be quite concerned, if I were a nobody, that I might be outed as somewhat of a hypocrit having been known to come on here and throw my weight around.

CheesyFeet · 08/08/2006 15:06

Has nobody got a book coming out then?

ToodlePip123 · 08/08/2006 15:07

update here

alexsmilitantmum · 08/08/2006 15:07

yes nobody has a new book! wonderful publicity for her.

LIZS · 08/08/2006 15:07

promote to who? same people you are fighting? No Sale.

and Nobody's lawyers are leafing thru old cases (precedent??) to find examples of where discussing stuff before court was deemed unlawful then they will hit mn with that too.

wannaBe1974 · 08/08/2006 15:13

but they say that any publicity is good publicity. Regardless of what we think on here, there are people who will go out and buy the book to see what all the fuss is about, the same as people go and watch contravercial films/buy contravercial computer games etc. For some, their morbid curiosity gets the better of them. Some won't buy her books, but there are some who ordinarily wouldn't have bothered that will

HCIsManningTheBarricades · 08/08/2006 15:14

I suspect that they don't have instructions to say anything.

anthonykiedisbitontheside · 08/08/2006 15:16

Tbh I think people are more likely to come on mn to see what all the fuss is about rather than go out and buy a book.

edam · 08/08/2006 15:17

no comment = trying not to fan the flames. A reaction can keep the story running into a second day. But then, any further action from her team in future would start the coverage all over again. If I happened to be her PR, I'd tell her to leave well alone and go and do something else instead.

buggar it ...when MNHQ asked us to refrain from discussing ....they really meant it (seen a couple of posts form Tech about this) even when we use other words instead of the 'real one' IYKWIM ...no mention of people or their motivations/actions etc
