Advanced search not working?

GinSoakedMisery · 15/02/2014 23:08

Tried searching for something, and came back as 0 results.

Knew it wasn't the case as definitely there, so tried to search my name and came back again as 0 results.

Just me?

I just searched on you and got 291 results. Are you sure you used it correctly?

GinSoakedMisery · 15/02/2014 23:22

Hmm, just tried it, seems it's just today it's not bringing anything up for. Most odd Confused

Yes me too Gin I searched for a couple of things yesterday that came up with 0 results.

So this morning I tried searching any message from yesterday and today using the word "dc" and got 0 results Hmm

Seemed to be ok up to and including Friday.

I've tried on the mobile and desktop site.

Kezzybear · 16/02/2014 09:00

Me too. I tried to search yesterday and again today. 0 results each time.

QuinionsRainbow · 16/02/2014 14:25

Still the same - zilch!

Sparklingbrook · 16/02/2014 16:59

Same for me too. Weird.

GinSoakedMisery · 16/02/2014 17:18

Hellooooo??

Advanced search not working?
Showy · 16/02/2014 21:11

Annoying isn't it?

GinSoakedMisery · 16/02/2014 23:02

Have reported my post in hope MNHQ look at it.

Advanced search never works very well, you get all kinds of zombie threads and irrelevant stuff.

Showy · 17/02/2014 08:19

Nocomet, I like advanced search. I've been here 10 years and never had a problem with it. You just have to narrow down the parameters if you're getting stuff back you don't want. Zombie threads can be eliminated, for example, if you choose the date range.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 17/02/2014 08:28

Yes me too. I just tested by searching 'pregnant' from yesterday to today - 0 results.

throckenholt · 17/02/2014 11:59

MNHQ seem happy to ignore this - and my thread about it too.

Maybe they are all out paddling in the river.

Nocomet · 17/02/2014 12:04

Yes, but the search algorithms could be way way better at phrase in thread title/ most relavent/recent, phrase appears in several posts in a thread.

They are awfully basic.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 17/02/2014 12:23

I'd settle for 'awfully basic' but 'basically working' Smile

I've reported the thread again. It's h/t isn't it? Maybe lots of staff are on AL.

SnoopySnooperson · 17/02/2014 14:11

Same for me, Ad search hasn't been working properly. I seem to be having problems NCing too....HQ...help.

Anonymai · 17/02/2014 16:16

AmyMumsnet · 17/02/2014 17:26

Hi all,

Thanks for your reports and hugest apols that we've reduced you to DM sad faces, we have no idea how we'll make it up to you.

How about we chase tech and see what they can do?

In the meantime, if you could let us know which browser you're using that'd be grand.

Cake for your patience, we'll have you back to stalking searching in no time.

Showy · 17/02/2014 17:30

Firefox, on a PC running Windows 7. I don't want cake though. Any gingerbread?

TaraLott · 17/02/2014 17:34

Amy, how very dare you, it's for research not stalking. Shock

Anonymai · 17/02/2014 17:46
