Adding a petition?

Hi. Can I get the lowdown on how to get support for a petition. It is regarding free school transport provision in Essex and the fact that there will be significant numbers of children losing school transport for a journey of over 6 miles. Is it possible to get a thread with a link to the petition as so far we only have just over 400 signatures and yet will affect at least 90 children per school year in one town alone. TIA
