I have started a thread about how I struggle with dyspraxia and others have joined in. MFR has written several articles on her struggle with dyspraxia in The Guardian!!

Ive met Maxine...as part of a plan to set up a support organisation for adults with dyspraxia....she is absolutely ace. She would be great for a webchat.

I have dyspraxia....DS is also dyspraxic.

I am an organisational nightmare. ....but lists save me.Grin

I've just realised I might ave this because of a thread Lottie started. A web chat would raise more awareness and be really helpful not to mention interesting.

Definitely a great idea Lottie, our middle son has dyspraxia and to be honest I've probably forgotten some stuff I should know.

There are 4 in our family who have dyspraxia to varying degrees.
I struggled terribly as a child with so many of the classic signs, although 40+ years ago nobody had a name for it. I have overcome almost every aspect, except for the terrible handwriting and awful sense of direction.
I drive, I ride a bike, my L & R seem fine now. It has been a struggle and as a child and a teenager it was grim. When my eldest was diagnosed I realised I had it to ( I didn't feel the need for an official diagnosis)
It is such a grim thing to have, and can lead to so much heartache, but I feel my family are coping brilliantly with this debilitating syndrome.

chickydoo · 27/01/2014 23:21

Oh and to add, yes it would be great to have someone come to chat about dyspraxia on here.

LottieJenkins · 30/01/2014 09:23

Hullo all, sorry for the silence!

Thanks v much for suggesting this - we'll put it to the webchat team and see what is possible. We should mention that webchats are usually organised months in advance, so there might be a bit of wait!

KateSMumsnet · 03/02/2014 10:45

An update from the webchat folk - they think it's a great idea and will do all they can to try and arrange this.

nobutreally · 03/02/2014 10:49

Lottie: would you mind posting a link to your other thread - I'm going into school for a meeting about dd's possible dyspraxia this afternoon & it would make fabulous preparatory reading, as I'm not feeling very prepared or informed....

LottieJenkins · 07/02/2014 03:15

nobutreally I have only just seen your message Blush If you still want the link let me know!!

Just read and must admit not at all a fan! In theory, all awareness-raising of dyspraxia is great, but self-indulgent woolly twaddle of imnature 20-something with good connections?! Not informative, not positive and not insightful. Just one of her particular issues.

Her resentment at not being able to get into financial sector? Well, so what? We all have setbacks in life, not necessarily dyspraxia related.

How about insight from someone with dyspraxia on good parenting.life experience, mental health issues. Sure there are many out there.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for bringing this back to our attention. Our webchat team are currently on holiday but we'll flag it to them when they're back.
