Can we have a search facility on individual threads to find a particular poster or phrase?

On a particularly long thread, I want to be able to find say, my last post or another poster's last post without having to scroll through. I sometimes come back to a thread which has moved on by several million posts and I take ages finding where I was!

I'm sure this has been mentioned before - did anything come of it?

Would it be possible tech, please?

Couldn't you do something very similar by using the find facility in your browser?

Enter the text you want to look for
Click on Find Next
