MN Poetry

I have just read 'My Baby Boy and Me' by Jane Triplett on a chat thread and was reminded of the many times I have howled with laughter or had a lump in my throat reading quotations from published poets but more often a posters own witty rhyming interpretation of a thread, the LDC thread springs to mind as one hilarious example. Some compisitions need the context of the thread to be fully appreciated but many stand on their own.

So could we have some MN Poetry? Perhaps a section like classics with posts nominated by other posters, a collection published for the kindle or a poem of the day to make us all laugh or cry?

Thanks for suggesting this MistyB! We do actually have a creative writing club topic, would that serve?

Or do you mean us actually curating some MN poetry content?

I was thinking a poetry collection, possibly a book.

There once was a woman called Misty
Who like to read Mumsnet po-itry
Kate suggested the Creative Writing Topic
And hoped Misty would go and hop it
And write some fantastic poems that would make Mumsnet remembered for all time in history
