speed of deletions

It seems to take an age to get threads deleted. There are lots of horrible threads recently, some just trolly but others are horribly racist etc.

Can MNHQ not speed up the time of takes to delete these threads? I can't see any reason for delay when the OP is blatantly racist or posting other inappropriate stuff.

OP posts:

Agreed.

NotAnotherPackedLunchBox · 11/01/2014 20:24

Yes, please can you speed up the deletions. It's really poor to leave them hanging around so long when they are so blatant as to not need any investigation.

Janorisa · 11/01/2014 20:26

Agreed. Please stop this person.

Hiphopopotamus · 11/01/2014 20:27

The thing I don't really understand is when MNHQ comes in the thread to say it's going to be deleted, and then the thread is still up hours later. If you're going to delete it, just bloody delete it!

AuntieStella · 11/01/2014 20:28

Don't feed trolls.

Then it'll slip off Active Convos, and be zapped isc with far fewer people seeing it.

And trolls feed on attention. The more people post on their threads, the happier they are and the more likely they will come back.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/01/2014 20:33

Agreed. They need more mods. Some posts are so far over the line that they can be deleted without soul searching.

Fair enough using user moderation, but they need to be fast when they get reports and preferably not share the thread all over social media

I think a poster had a good idea when they said it should come down automatically after a certain number of different reports.

MN could then reinstate it if they thought it was OK.
