Do emoticons work on the site????

I was reponding earlier to a thread & accidentally added a love heart ( ?? ) to the message.

I can see it on my phone (iPhone) so just wondering if these show up.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no but can anyone confirm please.

I can sort of see most of them on my android phone but I can't do them.

Generally I only see them on the mobile site, only very very rarely on the desktop site. I only see two boxes in your brackets right now.

Should say I can see it on my mobile so at least if ur own the mobile site it will be visible I think ??

It does show up on my ancient PC
but these ones certainly work!:

And I think the alt ones work to - ??????•?????????¢?¶§??? (although alt+8 goes to google on my PC)

There have been reports of non MN emoticons working on the site...but I haven't been able to do it
