A THOUSAND stickies on the Andriod App Active Convos list ARGH

Dear MNHQ can you please please please pretty pretty please sort out the Active Convos list on the Android App? There are MNHQ threads (stickies? Is that the word) that go back to MAY on there, and takes a million years to scroll through them before getting to the current stuff and HONESTLY no-one cares about competitions to win food processors that closed eight months ago

Can't you just put a time limit on them so they only hang around for about a month instead of centuries? I swear I saw one there the other day posted by Mrs Beeton.

Bug "Feature".

Log out and log in.

Failing that, go into Settings > Apps and clear data.

FragglerockAmpersand · 21/12/2013 21:22

Oh thanks Deck, I'll give it a go. It's such a tiny thing but SO infuriating.

^ What Horry said. If you log out and log back in again it clears them down to 5. Log out is in settings from the home screen.

Ooo you star, that's worked - thanks! Xmas Smile Thanks

StarS, plural! Cheers, chaps. Can't quite believe something that's been pissing me off for so long could have such a simple solution.

ah thanks for this, it's been driving me mental too!! Will try logging out and in again, fingers crossed for success!

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry · 21/12/2013 21:27

It's still annoying though because you have to do it so often. Which is a PITA when you have a long seasonal nn to type in accurately... Grin

alisonmcg · 21/12/2013 21:29

it worked! thank you!! decks how quickly do they build back up again?

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry · 21/12/2013 21:32

Feels quick. I think I clear once or twice a month? Depends how often MNHQ stickies new things I guess.

confuddledDOTcom · 22/12/2013 11:05

we could do with a last 15 min/ hour/ day button like on the web version.

oh and something else, why are there no capitals?

DeckTheHallsWithBoughsOfHorry · 22/12/2013 11:26

I think there's different ways of labelling a text box (eg to expect just numbers or free text) some of which "tell" your device to engage sentence capitalisation.

AmberLeaf · 07/01/2014 19:26

I have posted on a thread about this before, but are there any plans to properly sort this out?

it is a real pain in the arse.

I did try the logging in and out thing, but it doesn't work for long.

laptop is on the blink so MN app is my only option.

AmberLeaf · 07/01/2014 19:27

id report my post to draw attention to it, but I don't seem to be able to do that on the app.

HoratiaDrelincourt · 07/01/2014 19:28

Amber the weird arrow in the bottom right of each post links to report.

AmberLeaf · 07/01/2014 19:44

ah, many thanks!

I had a feeling it would be something obvious Blush

AmberLeaf · 07/01/2014 19:45

I thought that arrow was a way of replying. Blush

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/01/2014 19:45

Use the mobile site - its much better than the app!

AmberLeaf · 07/01/2014 19:48

(dim) How do I do that?

RowanMumsnet · 07/01/2014 22:18

If you go to MN from a mobile device (phone or tablet) it should recognise that you need the mobile site and direct you automatically. If it doesn't, if you scroll right down to the bottom of any page on MN, the very last link you see (right in the middle of the page, absolutely at the bottom) is to the mobile site.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 07/01/2014 22:18

Just go to Mumsnet.com on your mobile device and will prob default to mobile site - if it doesn't there will be a link at the top or bottom where you can switch.

RowanMumsnet · 07/01/2014 22:18

And yes, we do have a plan to make everything better - but we're afraid it's going to be a while. Sorry.

AmberLeaf · 08/01/2014 01:51

Thanks Rowan and ItsAll...
