back to phone - DD keeps getting her mitts on my phone, maybe she did something to it?
It's when I switch from ABC to 123Sym that it happens, on the 2nd & 3rd "pages" (don't know what they are called, there's a button which is an arrow in ABC mode or shows 1/3 or 2/3 or 3/3 in 123Sym mode)

â?? that is supposed to be a star

I think it's to do with the way that your phone is encoding symbols and the way mumsnet is decoding them.

Your phone and mumsnet are speaking slightly different languages and when mumsnet doesn't "understand" your phone's symbol encoding it puts in a kind of best guess instead.

This is a common problem, and why it is best to use the sites own symbols rather than ones from your phone.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 12/12/2013 13:07

but it's been fine! it's been always fine

best to use site's own symbols? nooooo, it doesn't have star or heart or mini trees or many other things that I use to make funny drawings, including my Scary dog and special bunting!

Sad

(and now I have no connection so maybe I sent this post 4 timesConfused )
