So I come back to find that you have deleted my thread asking why my Santa thread was deleted.

Of course it was a thread about a thread, it was asking a question about the thread.

Wtf else is one supposed to do?

I put it in site stuff.

It was also a really nice friendly thread full of poetry and laughs. Why why why why was it deleted? What the hell is going on there?

Secondly, if one wants to talk about something, and that something has been deleted purely owing to others mischief, does that mean that one is never to talk about that subject again??

How mad is that?

I thought the reason given was "it turned into a bit of a bunfight" not that it was deliberately inflammatory. No wonder everyone is bewildered.

Hullygully · 05/12/2013 23:46

The second one asking why it was deleted was "delib inflamm" minty

@Hullygully

Asking in SITE STUFF why my thread was deleted = deliberately inflammatory?

We thought it was deliberately inflammatory to start a thread saying 'why was my thread deleted' when there was a deletion message saying very clearly that it was deleted for being a bunfight. Yes.

Hullygully · 05/12/2013 23:47

But hey, don't listen to me, according to MNHQ I'm just a big fat liar. Pretty much what the twits on the first "bunfight " thread said.

ButThereAgain · 05/12/2013 23:47

Seems spot on to ban someone for that comment. It was awful and as well as hurting poor Amy (who at the very worst just made a bad call) it made me and I guess others feel tainted and ashamed for being on the same thread.

HoneyDragon · 05/12/2013 23:48

This is getting more confusing.

Am I going to be banned too?

Fairenuff · 05/12/2013 23:48

How is 'why was my thread deleted' different to 'clarification please'?

It's still a thread about a thread that was deleted. Is this one going to be deleted too?

usualsuspect · 05/12/2013 23:48

So,any thread that's a bit fighty will be deleted?

Is that what MN is now.

Hullygully · 05/12/2013 23:48

So even tho I posted saying I missed the end, it wasn't a bunfight, why was it deleted? I was still being deliberately inflammatory?"

You're going to stick by that no matter what?

OP posts:
Hullygully · 05/12/2013 23:50

If you are, then you all get your wish.

I can't stay and be called a liar.

Thanks for that.

Amy does look like my daughter, who is rather gorgeous. And, to be fair, she won't allow me to to pour neat vodka down her neck either.

I really enjoyed meeting Rebecca and Amy. Were there others there? I hope I didn't I appropriately grope any of them too.

Theworldisbiggerthanyou · 05/12/2013 23:50

Hully. This is a forum. It has god knows how many members. There are probably a decent number of posts deleted everyday for various reasons. I would imagine some of the OP's felt this was unfair and contacted HQ via the proper and preferred channels (e-mail).

You have been stubborn and threw your teddy out of the cot and refused to follow those channels, instead you have made you annoyance very public.
This has led to another member being openly derogatory to somebody who is just doing their job. Remember Hully as members if we don't like a comment or thread we can just leave. Amy cannot just leave her job.

The way I see it Hully your threads have been deleted. Get over it.
If you had of followed proper channels then maybe Amy would not of being subjected to a personal attack by another posters.

RowanMumsnet · 05/12/2013 23:51

@HoneyDragon

This is getting more confusing.

Am I going to be banned too?

Eh? Why would you be banned?

Hullygully · 05/12/2013 23:51

Yes, that's my fault too. I am entirely responsible for someone saying something about someone at MNHQ AND a big old liar.

OP posts:
Fairenuff · 05/12/2013 23:51

Hully them saying it doesn't mean it's true. But it is a personal attack. Report the post, it might get deleted.

Seriously confused now Confused

RowanMumsnet · 05/12/2013 23:52

@usualsuspect

No

We actually try very hard not to delete threads for this reason, but sometimes, in some circs, it's necessary

HoneyDragon · 05/12/2013 23:54

Well I didn't insult Amy, but did comment on the tone of a couple of her posts, in much the same way I would've anyone else, who thought could've done something with a little more though.

I'm getting thoroughly bewildered, a bit cross and a lot miserable.

HoneyDragon · 05/12/2013 23:55

Thought

Theworldisbiggerthanyou · 05/12/2013 23:55

In a way yes you are. Had you not started this thread questioning so publicly the judgement of mods or their handling of a thread then the other member may not have felt the need to join in and stick the boot in.

Not directly responsible Hully but as I said my feeling is if you had followed the correct channels then that poster would not of had the opportunity to post comments about Amy.

Hullygully · 05/12/2013 23:56

would not "have" not "of"

bruxeur was banned for a stunningly unpleasant attack. He'd had several mails from us warning him about the tone of his posts before.

Really don't think anything you've posted is in the same category, HoneyDragon

usualsuspect · 05/12/2013 23:56

I'm going to sleep.

It's all a bit mad.

reelingaroundthechristmastree · 05/12/2013 23:57

Since when have we been responsible for other poster's comments?
Are we not all adults here?

HoneyDragon · 05/12/2013 23:57

Ok, just checking though as am getting the feeling I'm getting lumped in now.

Hullygully · 05/12/2013 23:58

I see you are choosing not to answer me Rowan, so you are standing by me being deliberately inflammatory.

Thanks.

Bye all.
