Locking down a thread - well done MNHQ!

I just wanted to say that I thought the lock-down feature you've introduced is really very helpful.

It's a clear message that you're taking action, without having to declare your thoughts until you've had time to digest the thread.

Thank you!

The crazies are out in force this evening Wink

TantrumsAndBalloons · 13/11/2013 17:31

I liked the lock down as well.

It is very necessary sometimes. And gives people a chance to calm the fuck down Grin

lougle · 13/11/2013 17:33

Despite the fact that I had spent a few minutes working out exactly how much DH is left with for every £1 increase in wage (3.9 pence in case anyone is interested) after deductions.

I didn't even know they could do this? When did this happen?

oooh, have i missed something?

MrsBramleyApple · 13/11/2013 17:41

Very pleased that that particular thread was locked down! One particular person was on mission destruct!!!

LEMisafucker · 13/11/2013 17:42

does this mean that as soon as someone reports a thred it gets locked until MNHQ responds - it will lock down the whole site.......

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2013 17:42

I miss everything. I hope everyone is ok. Sad

headlesslambrini · 13/11/2013 17:48

what thread?

RowanMumsnet · 13/11/2013 17:51

Noooo!

We use it when things seem to be spinning out of control and sometimes when we want to go to bed

RowanMumsnet · 13/11/2013 17:52

Not that I'm going to bed right now

ClaimedByMe · 13/11/2013 17:54

I am guessing the tax credits thread, that turned nasty quickly!

LEMisafucker · 13/11/2013 17:54

oooh, but i do like a good out of control thread, but yes, can see the use of this rather than having to delete a whole thread.

PenguinsDontEatPancakes · 13/11/2013 17:56

Oh Rowan, are you digging yourself a hole again? You know it's going to end with you having to do a blank post. Grin

Anyway I'm outta here

Sparklingbrook · 13/11/2013 18:02

Shame some posters can't be 'locked down'. Grin

SouthernComforts · 13/11/2013 18:17

I think it was the right call too.

< suck up >

Fairylea · 13/11/2013 18:19

I like it too.

IamInvisible · 13/11/2013 18:22

I missed today's, but I was really grateful when a thread was locked down at the weekend.
