Can you get into trouble for reporting too much?

Recently there has been an onslaught of arseholes goaders and obviously the best thing to do is not rise to it as it bumps the thread/ fuels the fire and also not to call them out as they could be a genuine person who needs help. So my question is, can you get into trouble for being 'report' happy? I'm only asking as the last forum I was on years ago would penalise people if they were thought to be reporting too much. I have reported 3 posts in the past 24 hours (inc. Kerrang twat and goady M&S trouser woman) which I felt were justified, but getting the e-mail in my inbox from MNHQ that looks so official with its incident number is so off-putting! I'm not a busy-body, honest, I just want the website to be the best it can be, especially in light of the AF incident. Cheers!

Can I lobby a bit for the non-deletion of posts, but perhaps a counter of how many reports a post clocks up and maybe a change to shit-brown colour when it gets 10 reports?

See, I always feel that hq are a bit trigger happy with the ol' deletions. I'd like to see a lot more stay.

I'm not sure its altogether realistic to expect people never to be a bit off with you if you have had a huge barney on another thread though? That's not much like real life. Obviously its not on to be hostile and vile. But a bit cool is ok?

I am not a fan of deletions. but in some circs its definitely the better option.

Love Jux's idea of the shit-browning of a post according to the number of reports it gets. There is an analogy to be made there with brown-nosing but I can't be arsed to make it.

I'm waiting to be banned for reporting and questioning the philosophy of MNet which appears to be turning into BLIAR Net.

There is no "philosophy of Mumsnet", other than perhaps "be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes". The rest is people's personal opinions. If they don't happen to agree with yours, well, that's probably because you're wrong innit?

BTW I am reporting this thread for being about a thread.

I report if I see a PA or if I think I see a troll thread. I don't give it much thought. If I think it might be a troll thread I report it even if I am not sure and am enjoying it
