You know that Zombie Thread Warning Thingy?

Does the Zombie disappear after a number of posters have ignored the Zombie and posted anyway?

It's just that the hamwidge one was bumped this morning by one of those charming 'get a life you lot' types and I'm sure the Zombie was there then, but now it's gone.

It shows for the first two posts, then the thread is considered active.

I don't know how long the thread has to have been inactive for before the zombie appears though.

OhAntiChristFENTON · 29/10/2013 16:18

Ah, thank you greenhill, nice to know I wasn't seeing a Zombie where there wasn't one!

Is it an actual zombie emoticon?

FruOla · 30/10/2013 06:46

No, it's not an emoticon Stratters, IIRC it's a cartoon drawing - it's quite funny. You don't have to bump an old thread to see it, just have a look at an old thread and you'll find it above the posting box.

ScarerStratton · 01/11/2013 12:12

Oooh yes, I see it now Grin

I agree with you Skully. In fact, maybe 10, or 15, posts?

ScarerStratton · 02/11/2013 15:36

No, forever!

FruOla · 02/11/2013 15:53

Forever might be a good idea Stratters!

Have you seen the one about the Ice Cream Van in the snow in December 2011 which has been resurrected?

Bonkers Grin

TheDoctrineOfWho · 08/11/2013 08:07

Yes, 3-4 posts would be good

gintastic · 08/11/2013 08:11

It doesn't show at all on the app though, maybe that is part of the problem?

Vatta · 08/11/2013 08:30

I don't really like the cartoon actually - maybe I'm being over sensitive, but I've been on the bereavement/miscarriage boards a lot lately. Sometimes I'm looking through for advice, read some terribly sad stories about babies dying, and then immediately afterwards there's a jolly little zombie drawing. It just feels .... distasteful, or off somehow.

If MNHQ are going to make any changes to the "zombie thread" setting could we have a different, less jolly, warning on the sad boards? Eg just a statement that this thread has not been active in at least 6 months, or whatever the cutoff is?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/11/2013 11:50

We asked for it to be taken away from the Woolly Hug threads for the same reason, partly why we now have our own topic. I thought it was the same on the Bereavement boards?
