I don't know what I've done, or what is going on but I now have a lovely window layered on top of this one that is displaying all your code.
It's fascinating, especially as it gives the code for every page I click on, but am guessing you would rather it wasn't there?

I've closed it down, and can't find out how to reopen it. Was interesting though.................

I've got all the coding up for the smileys.

I wish I could see the big red button

BOF · 25/10/2013 18:24

Me too, I've got the smilies code.

If you're in IE, I'd guess you clicked 'View' and then 'Source', or pressed Ctrl + U - you can do it for most sites. Try again...

Aw Sad It doesn't work!

SHRIIIEEEKFuckingBearBlood · 25/10/2013 18:37

Yes you are viewing the source, basically the web page in code. There shouldn't be anything in it (other than maybe a couple of sarky comments :o) that you can't see anyway, and you can edit it but it won't change the actual site.

The stuff on the smile list isn't code. It's file paths.

anythingforaquietnight · 25/10/2013 19:39

No, its not that. Its an entire other window that pop up with all the code on for each page, all the options to alter it etc etc ( I'm not tecchy - can you tell? I did O Level programming and some HTML training years ago), pathways, loads of different windows for changing "stuff"

Wise I'd screen saved it now

It was the page source of the page. It wasn't anything you could have actually edited and then saved to MN's servers.

Not without login details.

What browser do you use?

RustyBear · 25/10/2013 20:04

Like this?

AnnieLobeseder · 25/10/2013 20:06

Did you right-click and select "inspect element" by accident? Just use the little X in the top right corner, same as any any page, to close it.
