Is there any chance we might have some other less lurid colours for highlighting please?

I keep swapping between the pink and the green and while I don't wish to be rude or derogatory, I really find the colour options on offer are a bit lacking shall we say.

The only nice one is forest green but it is very dark.

Could we maybe have some more neutral ones? Beige or pale blue or you know, just not pink or green? We need at least two nice ones so I can highlight the OP and my own posts.

Very grateful if you might consider this. Thanks

plus it clashes so badly with the blue and white!

Oddly, I've always thought the highlighting colours were too wishy-washy!

BillyBanter · 06/10/2013 14:34

I'm using an olivey green. I'd hardly call it lurid but it's not subtle. Quite dark. I do my own posts in pale pink which is subtle but pink.

Rooners · 06/10/2013 16:57

Well yes, some are wishy and some are rather too gloomy I think.

I'm going at this from an artistic bent Grin

Many people probably don't care at all. It is GREAT to have highlighting anyway so I'm grateful for that full stop.

But just...why go to the bother of having a lovely muted colour scheme and blue bits here and there and then ruin it with ghastly purple or gloomy green?

I think MN needs its colours done Smile

I demand MORE lurid colours! Fluorescent shades please!

Rooners · 06/10/2013 17:06

That would not do AT ALL.

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 06/10/2013 17:08

It would be AWESOME! Eyeburningly awesome! Grin

Rooners · 06/10/2013 17:12

Ok. I concede, but if it looks dreadful, it'll be your fault.

Do we have a deal?

Do you remember as kids when you covered a piece of paper with different wax crayons and then covered with a black wax crayon, then etched out a picture? Could we have something similar, so the type comes out multi coloured on a black foreground. Thanking you so very much Grin

Rooners · 06/10/2013 17:20

Oh God. Why did I start this? you bunch of goons Grin

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 06/10/2013 17:21

Ooh yeah! Black background with day glo writing!

Get on it Tech!

Rooners · 06/10/2013 17:21

I only wanted a beige. Any beige - taupe even, or mushroom.

Is it too much to ask? [flagellates self on the steps of MN towers]

No one's got any taste any more.

I think you suit a nice sludgey green, rooners.

Now onestep, I think a yellow would really set off her posts nicely.

SoupDragon · 06/10/2013 17:23

I'm using a light green - it's a lovely sage colour.

SoupDragon · 06/10/2013 17:24

And for my posts I have a dusty lilac.

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 06/10/2013 17:25

I use pink for the OP and grey for me. I have no issue with the colours.

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 06/10/2013 17:25

Forget colours, let's go one step further...

PATTERNS!

Paisley! Stripes! Swirls! Geometric type thingies!

Rooners · 06/10/2013 17:28

Billy that was UNCALLED FOR [angy]Gin

I think Beardy has officially lost the plot.

Grin

Pink and green look awful together though. I don't mind the light green or the light pink (though it's only been an hour or two, and it may prove too much shortly - it's like being in the girl baby section at Asda)

but having both is terrible.

We need subtle, neutral, laminate flooring and brown sofa compatible colours. Or we need an artistic theme with turquoise and deep red and ochre. Or something. and a weird luminous theme for the other sort of poster. Hmm Not looking at anyone in particular.

SoupDragon · 06/10/2013 17:28

flashing patterns maybe...?

SoupDragon · 06/10/2013 17:29

We need subtle, neutral, laminate flooring and brown sofa compatible colours

And possibly some Twiggy Shit

Rooners · 06/10/2013 17:29

Steady, Soupy.

Someone will say the T word in a minute.

It went through my mind...

.. and left a deep, deep scar.

Rooners · 06/10/2013 17:30

Look I can alter the scheme on my phone. Why not here. A nice pebbly backdrop would be epic.

The customise page has got this lovely turquoisey ad on either side right now and it is soooo pretty. No idea what it is advertising mind.

BillyBanter · 06/10/2013 17:33

We can have pebble pattern, sticks in vases pattern, heart shaped twig wreath pattern. That'd go with your brown sofa.
