Chrome - keep getting a pop up message from MN

Not every time, just occasionally over last 2 days. I know you are having issues with posting on IE and multiple posts, so held off from flagging this up!

It says something like "The website MN says please enter message/subject field" and then I click the ok box and it goes away. It pops up as soon as I open a page. Of course now I want to see the exact words then it is not doing it in the other tab! Typical!

I can get a screen shot next time if you like?

Anyway not urgent as it all still works for me so am not complaining just flagging it up. Gin - and yes I do mean gin not grin!

Thanks Giraffes

We'll wait to see if anyone else is having an issue; if they're not, it's possible that this is a virus on your computer. Have you run a check?

giraffescantdanceallnight · 13/09/2013 10:40

I have antivirus, will run an extra scan now to check :)

ys i keep getting that!

i often double click thread titles to open them in a new tab and it'll flick me to the new tab with the pop-up box. definitely something about the message field

also using chrome.

CairngormsClydesdale · 13/09/2013 10:43

I'm getting this too but actually not for the last half hour or so.

RowanMumsnet · 13/09/2013 11:24

Hmmm, odd. I use Chrome and I'm not getting it

Could you all run anti-virus checks, and then let us know if it's still happening?

bundaberg · 13/09/2013 11:31

admittedly it hasn't happened to me yet today. but it was yesterday evening

bundaberg · 13/09/2013 14:54

i have a screenshot of it now! who should i send it to? Grin

elah11 · 13/09/2013 17:44

I am on chrome too and getting that quite often too, not every thread but often enough that its annoying!

bundaberg · 13/09/2013 21:52

hang on... you've been having issues with people who use IE????

seriously, fuck em. who uses IE??

giraffescantdanceallnight · 13/09/2013 21:53

Happening this morning now.

" it's possible that this is a virus on your computer." pffft

Thumbwitch · 16/09/2013 05:28

I haven't had that - but (also on Chrome) I was getting a little message after I'd pressed Post in the last couple of days (but not today so I can't remember what it said exactly, it was something like "please wait" or similar)

I agree with bundaberg re. IE though - why does anyone still use it? Chrome is much better, cos when you press post and the site has gone offline, you only need to press the back arrow and your post is still there in Chrome, so you can just press post again later. Unlike IE, where it all disappeared into the ether and you had to waste time and valuable brain resources retyping the pearls of wisdom.

nannynick · 16/09/2013 07:23

Not had it happen, yet.

For those with a screenshot of it happening, send it to the [email protected] address.

nannynick · 16/09/2013 09:26

The "please wait" bit I suspect comes from mumsnet.min.js - lots of code there.

nannynick · 16/09/2013 09:52

Anyone still having it happen, try refreshing page without cache:

Ctrl+Shift+R

cmd+Shift+R (if on mac)
