I want to know how long before I am allowed to namechange please?

Why can you not namechange ?

Haven't been able to for a long time. MN froze the namechange for me after I let a friend with no internet access use my account to post on mnet.
Since she didn't even have an email address, and it was a one off, I thought it would be ok, but I was told I was misleading people, and was banned for a while before being allowed back.

Since then, I haven't been allowed to namechange. Not sure how long ago that was, but am probably talking years now.

I wonder if I will ever be able to namechange again. I had to have a thread deleted the other day because it was too easy to out me, and I'd given too much away in the thread. That wouldn't have happened if I could have nc'ed in first place, but that's the way things stand and have done for years now.

On a more positive note, at least if it doesn't have my name against a post, it can't be me posting under a different name.

Does this still happen if you change email address? Does MN know our IP addresses?

I am wondering if Tech has been filched from MI5.

I have changed email address previously for the sole purpose of namechanging, but the new account is quickly disabled, so I stick to this one now.
