Anyone else being repeatedly asked to save a file called seg.js from ib.adnxs.com?
I've run a virus scan and it was clean, and this is ONLY happening on mumsnet.
No way I'm downloading anything I didn't directly click on by the way.

yes I reported this yesterday on the Systweak advert. Is it legit? thread. Scan didn't seem to stop it but have only had it appear once today . Using IE and it was even when I was on the Site Stuff thread !

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 15/08/2013 19:24

I've been getting this loads since yesterday and assumed it was a problem with my lappy. I tried to open it, and bugger all happened. Still kept popping up.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 15/08/2013 23:23

Grin @ Rowan!

gaggiagirl · 16/08/2013 08:27

ColetteTech · 16/08/2013 13:21

Hi everyone,

We're working hard here at HQ to work out what's going on with this, we'll get back to you shortly.

ColetteTech · 16/08/2013 15:13

Can I just check, are you all still experiencing this problem?

BoneyBackJefferson · 16/08/2013 15:32

ColletteTech

I've not had the seg.js download come up for a while.

LottieJenkins · 16/08/2013 15:46

I haven't had it for a day and a half now!

ColetteTech · 16/08/2013 15:52

Thanks Boney and Lottie Thanks

ImNotBloody14 · 16/08/2013 16:01

still happening for me i'm afraid.

GetStuffezd · 16/08/2013 16:01

Me too.

ColetteTech · 16/08/2013 16:18

Could you send a screengrab to [email protected] when you see it? That would be REALLY helpful.
Thanks for the one you uploaded, ImperialBlether.

ImNotBloody14 · 16/08/2013 16:19

yep will do.

ImNotBloody14 · 16/08/2013 16:23

oh- how do I do a screengrab? Grin

GetStuffezd · 16/08/2013 16:27

Yup! It won't do it now, of course...!

ColetteTech · 16/08/2013 16:29

I'm assuming you're on Windows because this problem seems limited to Internet Explorer? If so, Microsoft can explain it better than me Grin.

ColetteTech · 16/08/2013 16:29

@GetStuffezd

Yup! It won't do it now, of course...!

Typical!

ImNotBloody14 · 16/08/2013 16:34

thanks.it hasn't happened again but will send one when it does.

LIZS · 16/08/2013 17:10

juts had it for 1st time today on a Behaviour/Development thread Confused

cumfy · 16/08/2013 19:56

I've had this sporadically for 6 months or so.

I just ignore it, nothing happens.

I've always assumed it's a bit of javascript that's got lost. Sad

Opera 11, Windows 7.

Tapirbackrider · 17/08/2013 00:40

I've just had this happen twice, both times on the Site Stuff topic. Done a full AV sweep with Avast, and Malwarebytes - all clear.

Will try to get it to happen again, and get a screen shot.

Sad
VonTrappFan · 17/08/2013 11:13

I seem to get it on active conversations when the East ad with a dark haired woman looking sideways appears. Just happened again.

LesserSpottedNeckSnake · 17/08/2013 11:14

I was still getting it yesterday on various pages. It is most odd.

RowanMumsnet · 17/08/2013 19:20

Hello,

Sorry about this - we're still trying to chase it down.

Next time someone spots it, could you let us know

a) the name of the brand being advertised, and
b) the wording on the ad that's being displayed?

Thanks

Waltons · 17/08/2013 19:28

Also getting it - yesterday and today, AIBU and Chat. Using Internet Explorer. Will try to work out which ad is displaying/grab a screenshot next time it pops up.
