This morning the ' you need to log in to see this page ' message came up and when I tried my password was not recognised. I asked for a reset but had to input a password of 8 characters where as before it was 6.

Just wondering why?

We haven't made any changes today. Honest!

We did, a while back, make it so that anyone registering to join MN or resetting their password, now needs to select a password at least 8 characters long. This was purely done to make folks' accounts that bit more secure.

Could it be that you'd logged out (or had been logged out by our system, for some reason - sometimes this happens when we release a new code), and then mistyped your old password? Obviously, when you then asked for a reset, you'd have been required to select a new password of 8 characters or more.

Hi Helen. I think we can probably blame DD for resetting stuff, but I definitely typed my old password correctly.

No problem - just need to remember my new password now.
