Hi Rebecca - thanks for the link, but I can't get from there onto the page where you can change your username. Could you send me the link for that, please?

Thanks Flowers

RebeccaMumsnetisamazing · 03/06/2013 14:06

It is via that same link - as you can see, I have name changed to demonstrate Grin

Click on the top link called Basic registration details and over type with a new name.

Let us know if you have any problems.

babyheaveIsEvenMoreAmazing · 03/06/2013 14:28

Ooh, so it is.
I missed that completely.
Can we not put in a status anymore or have I missed that too?

RebeccaMumsnet · 03/06/2013 14:47

Eagle-eyed as per - I have just checked with AdamTech and it has moved to Profile now.

So go here log in and then click on Set up public profile page and you will see it at the top.

I have just tested it out, has it worked?

babyheaveIsEvenMoreAmazing · 03/06/2013 15:40

Ok - I've changeed it - you can check it out above Grin.

Can I just make a couple of teeny-tiny suggestions?

Everyone knows how MNers love a bit of change to the talk boards but it could really help if you gave warning of changes beforehand, so you don't get a load of argh what is going on messages.

It would also be useful if you could put up some release notes which explain where everything has been moved to. This way people could know what has been moved, or what has been missed - again saving you a load of time.

The updates this time have not only changed the look and feel of some parts of the boards, but they've also re-jigged where things are. There must be a list of changes compiled somewhere that could be made user-friendly and put on Site Stuff.

This whole convo woudn't have happened if there were release notes or FAQs about the changes I could have checked first.

Thanks :)

babyheaveIsEvenMoreAmazing · 03/06/2013 15:42

Apols if that was long winded, but I manage IT staff and would kick them into next week if they released a load of changes without comms & notes. Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/06/2013 16:23

Ok. I don't get it! where am I supposed to be looking for my profile?? And how do I k ow if I have a PM now? I've just received one, and there's no little red dot any more! I only found it because I looked! I love the yellow envelope and the red dot, it's so exciting. Sad

fl0b0t · 03/06/2013 17:07

Catpuss, glad it's not just me! Glad you asked (and good to see you!)

At the moment I think we can use the link posted above, but they are yet to re-sight it on the website? I think you may have to wait a little until it's fixed! I wanted to upload a new picture... wish me luck!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/06/2013 17:11

Oh ok! Thanks for clarifying, and hellooo! Grin

RebeccaMumsnet · 03/06/2013 17:12

yes, that is correct.

The fixes are on the Tech list and they are looking at both the Inbox issue and MyMumsnet, asap.

Babyheave - duly noted and thank you Thanks

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 03/06/2013 17:25

Thanks. Please keep the yellow envelope and the red dot. X

BeetleBugBaby · 03/06/2013 17:52

Seriously though, how hard would it have been to start a thread in Site Stuff, we are updating the website and implementing x amount of changes, they are as follows?

BeetleBugBaby · 04/06/2013 10:29

Funny how that's not had an answer Hmm

BeetleBugBaby · 04/06/2013 10:31

I see that it actually was noted. Hmm but okay..

FruOla · 04/06/2013 10:50

Actually, a sticky thread in Site Stuff, Chat and AIBU whenever changes are going to happen would be useful. Since the changes yesterday morning, there have got to be at least 20 threads dotted around those three boards complaining - or bewildered!

fl0b0t · 04/06/2013 15:04

Agreed, notes on the changes would be good.

Whether people actually read them or not....... another matter!

I uploaded a new picture though and it worked! Hurrah!
