Anyone used a soliscestor for DLA appeal?

SW suggested that we find one tomorrow. do you think it will have more clout this way rather than representing myself with a loads of letters from paed/salt/physio/OT?

I think it could help but they charge a lot of money (it could end up costing you more than a year's DLA I should think). However, perhaps you would be entitled to legal aid? Has anyone been recommended to you?

we get income support. social workwer said to call the law society tomorrow for a list of who does benefit law in the area and will take us on. but am wondring if i can fit in time for all this as well.

Well if that is the case I would say yes do it - it will help to have somebody representing you who has knowledge of case-law.

nah, go to an advice centre with an lsc franchise in welfare benefits. if you can. check out the cab and law centre. they know the law better, know the local system, and will give proper aftercare-chasing up benefits and so on.

they will be far more used to dealing with dla appeals. you need someone who knows the local system.

unless you pay, they won't represent-legal aid doesn't cover representation.

lsc franchised advice workers are usually legally trained, very oftenn ex-solicitors. its really not a second best option. but i would say that . (and I know you didn't say it was, just on my soapbox here).

you'd get legal aid, btw, including disbursements - medical reports and so forth.
