... but is it u to be annoyed by all the families need fathers preaching that a certain member is doing? ive just come out of an abusive relationship, and due to his behaviour hes not to go near me and my kids (ss will back me up on that). i come on here for support and to support others, but i keep coming across his posts which has alot of pro 'families need fathers' stuff. dont get me wrong, im all for fathers being involved as much as poss but in the right situations.... sometimes in cases such as dv and mental illness/child protection issues, its not right for the safety of that child.

its nice that hes passionate about being a dad, but to say that blocking contact is abuse, is rash and unfair on those who to such actions are based on a childs best interests.

Sounds like he has an agenda. Ignore him.

GetOrfMoiLand · 30/05/2013 11:08

I agree with you, but this place always contains people with agendas (agendae? what the hell). He can't be deleted ig he is not flouting any rules and just stating his opinion - best not to give him the fuel of attention. Easier said that done, though.

CorrStagnitto · 30/05/2013 11:09

who is he?

ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 30/05/2013 11:16

I'm sorry. I am not clear what you are saying. Are you saying that the father of your children is on here and that he was abusive to you and he is presenting himself as a loving father being prevented from seeing his children but you say the reality is that he is not allowed access because he was abusive?

Or are you saying that this is someone who is unconnected with you but due to your own history with your own ex, you don't like reading about this man's struggles with his own situation?

usualsuspect · 30/05/2013 11:21

I think she's saying he has an agenda. There are a few that come on MN just to further their cause.

lissieloo · 30/05/2013 11:26

Ah, doncha just love half term. Ignore, and if you see him/her breaking TGs, report.

honey86 · 30/05/2013 11:35

neither hecsy, i dont have a problem with fathers nor them sharing any of their experiences.

he just seems to promote that certain site and saying brazen things like stopping contact means your abusing your children is out of order. as achild who grew up around dv i know it would be better for a child to have one stable happy parent than a miserable one thats getting abused. it destroyed my childhood, so some of the things that members of fnf come out with are rash and biased, with no mention of a childs best interests.

just comes across as abit brainwashing, but thats my opinion.

Ah, I see. Thanks. I wasn't clear what you meant (that's my fault not yours but it's why I asked you)

If you think this person (I don't know who you're on about) isn't genuinely just talking about his own experiences but is pushing some sort of agenda, then report him to mnhq and they can take a look at it for you.
