What refresh hell is this ?

No, just NOOOO!

As of about 10 minutes ago every conversation page is automatically refreshing every 20-30 seconds.

This causes my address bar to glitch distractingly every refresh; not good for reading threads.

I find it really, really distracting.

Are you really going to keep this ?

Mine's not doing that. Sounds like your computer or browser, not the site.

Was still doing it at 16:30.

A lot of sites do have auto-refresh on their pages and it's a pain.

I'm 99.9% sure it was not a browser issue as I've used the same browser for over 10 years and refused updates for about 3.5 years.

I was getting that for a little while, too. I presumed it was because of the MN twitter feed which was showing up on the right side of the screen but isn't there now. (Laptop, Firefox)

Oh I'm well aware of sites that use auto-refresh. But it's a stupid thing for any site to do and certainly a chat site. Well, maybe not BBC or other news site. But a chat board?

More likely to be your machine than MN in this case.
