Want to be a Mumsnet Local Editor? Step this way ...

Mumsnet Local is growing all the time and we're on the look out for Mumsnetters who'd like to get involved in the project as Local Editors. Are you enthusiastic about where you live, keen on sharing the joy with other parents in your area - and looking for an excuse to spend even more time on Mumsnet? Then Mumsnet needs YOU.

What would you need to do? Well, the short answer is that we want each Local site to be the place where parents can get all the essential information and advice that they need about their neighbourhood from the experts - that is, the other parents who live there. We ask our Local Editors to be responsible for growing and nurturing their community by adding and editing listings, building a group of Local Ambassadors who organise regular meet-ups, and getting the word out in their area - and in return, have the right to sell advertising on the site to local businesses and keep 100% of the revenue.

That's the short answer. For the long one, please email [email protected] with 'interested in becoming a Local Editor' in the subject field, and we'll get back to you as soon as ever we can.

I'd be really happy to add listings etc and be an ambassador but not really fussed about selling advertising. Would that be useful or do you need people to do the whole lot? FWIW there's currently very little on my local site.

OliviaMMumsnet · 08/06/2013 19:38

Glorious = yes that would be useful indeed.
Do [email protected] and we can put you in touch with your local editor (if we have one yet)

glorious · 09/06/2013 20:13

Ok thanks, will do.

KneeDeepInDaisies · 18/06/2013 19:55

Has anyone heard anything bar the first email confirming you we're interested?

lougle · 18/06/2013 23:00

No, not so far, KneeDeepInDaisies Sad

Beechview · 19/06/2013 10:16

No I haven't either.

HelenMumsnet · 19/06/2013 12:35

Hello. Sorry about this. We'll find out what's going on.

HelenMumsnet · 19/06/2013 12:53

Right. Word from our Local Supremo is that she's got a huge pile of names now (hurrah!) and it's going to take her a little while to go through them all.

Hope you can bear with us for a bit. We're sure she'll be in touch with everyone soon.

lougle · 19/06/2013 16:36

Thanks for getting back to us Helen. I suppose patience is the way forward. Never been renowned for it.

Hi all. I'm thinking of becoming a LE and using what I make as my main income. It sounds like it's all about what you put in but I would need to clear about £500 a month after tax. Is this feasible? I'm very excited about it!

MissMarplesBloomers · 10/07/2013 15:10

Do any of you exisiting LE's share your role /area with anyone?

Would it would mean sharing the profits I guess is what I'm asking!!
