Could we just call it the 'Anthea' thread Wink

lucykate · 23/05/2006 11:55

i would post in housekeeping, i am a bit of a clean freak a la monica geller in friends.

i have stayed at friends houses and cleaned their bathroom before using it

can i also suggets a 'tantrum of the week' topic?

WelshBoris · 23/05/2006 11:57

Ok I grudginly admit I may lurk sometimes Blush

AllieBongo · 23/05/2006 12:02

i could start a thread called
"101 cleaning uses for an old toothbrush and some bleach"

Cappucino · 23/05/2006 12:04

bleach!

eek!

AllieBongo · 23/05/2006 12:05

mmmm bleach, cillit bang and hob brite

MrsBadger · 23/05/2006 12:09

I think there may be a genuine demand for a Housekeeping topic.
I mean, when a thread about pegbags gets more than 70 posts, and 'Laundry baskets - where are they situated in your house?' gets 179...

pecka · 23/05/2006 12:10

I really want a housekeeping topic too

please please please

AllieBongo · 23/05/2006 12:11

there was a big one on how to clean a brabantia bin...

SoupDragon · 23/05/2006 12:12

Blimey no. It would only remind me of what I;m meant to be doing.

Cappucino · 23/05/2006 12:15

Allie anyone who buys cillit bang wants their head looking at

and I include my own mother in that

'BANG! and the dirt is gone' - ffs. and then the ridiculous emphatic armfolding

Angry
AllieBongo · 23/05/2006 12:19

but it works, leave barry out of this please....
\link{http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-75506942482643146&q=cillit+bang\he rocks}

Cappucino · 23/05/2006 12:25

I can't watch this due to some javascript problem

and I'm rather relieved

AllieBongo · 23/05/2006 12:26

poo.....come on then, tell me why i shouldn't used "the Bang" then

Cappucino · 23/05/2006 12:28

Cillit Bang makes things go pink, and then it won't wash out

I know because a few of dd's tops have been given the pleasure of my mother's overenthusiastic spraying

so that's why Barry is wearing a pinny

AllieBongo · 23/05/2006 12:30

aahhh i see. one of my mums well know phrases is "i got bleach on it" all her clothes get mullered

Cappucino · 23/05/2006 12:32

oh, cillit bang just annoys me

their advertising is aimed entirely at people who want to obliterate their entire home - it's just overkill

my mother buys it, she says 'it's not as good as bleach' which is the only other thing she ever uses - she never thinks of actually, y'know, cleaning things, just throwing the most powerful stuff at them and then standing well clear

also it turns stuff pink. a couple of dd's tops got an unattractive splodgy make-over when left too near to my mother's overenthusiastic spraying, and it doesn't come off

Cappucino · 23/05/2006 12:33

got a bit obsessive over the tops then didn't I?

AllieBongo · 23/05/2006 12:41

you is a scary mumma

cod · 23/05/2006 13:10

yes "Nasty stains "please

OP posts:
NotAnOtter · 23/05/2006 14:19

our local hardware store ( no really - they wear housecoats) the woman said to me re cillit shebang ' they spend a lot on advertising but not a lot on the product'
I cannot bear to be shouted at by barry..to obliterate things 'Flash kitchen with bleach' but you do need a pinny!

cod · 23/05/2006 14:24

lol at otter

ok i have heard a shiwpering overt he priarie that my offer of good behaviour has been accepted

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 23/05/2006 14:30

I think that means there might soon be a housekeeping topic, but I'm not sure as I haven't been to my Codspeak lesson this week Sad
