A question about deleting...

....Does a post have to have been reported before it's deleted, or does Mumsnet sometimes delete proactively?

No one?

Evening seeker.

Mumsnet is post-moderated - which means we don't review posts unless they're reported to us.

That said, if a post is reported to us, we would probably have a general scan of the thread it's on while we're there - just to make sure that, if there is a need to delete, we're applying the rules fairly and equally all round.

Eg. If you post, "Eff off, HelenMumsnet" and I post in reply "Eff off, seeker" (this is an example, remember Smile) but only I report it, it would be unfair for MNHQ to delete "Eff off, seeker" but leave "Eff off, HelenMumsnet" just because you didn't report it yourself.

Hope that helps!
