Troll Hunters

I don't usually get involved in site politics/policy etc. but I'm really pissed off with the behaviour of a huge number of posters on a current thread (the one OP asked someone to call the police for her).

I know MNHQ often intervenes on this thread (indeed, like Rebecca did on that particular one) to caution against Troll Hunters, but I would like to know if there are any sanctions against these posters?

If they're breaking your guidelines, are they being suspended/banned cautioned directly?

These people can cause a lot of harm and distress, which in my view is even worse than personal attacks.

Hi Poppy,

We do note folks who do this and we often mail them too.

If they continue to post in this way and it's reported to us, then they would be banned for breaking our guidelines.

So please do use your report button if you see it again.

Thanks, Rebecca - that's good to know and apologies if you had covered this a million times before.
