...so why does the mobile site have a banner at the top encouraging users to download the "aptaclub" app (Aptimel?) Isn't this against MN policy?

Yes it is. Thank you - we'll sort.

We don't control what AdChoices serve up, no. But we can request not to be served up with particular stuff.

So please, if you see something that concerns you, do let us know.

@BeerTricksPotter

Thanks Helen and excuse my ignorance about AdChoices! Grin

There's not much advertising that annoys me enough to complain about, but the advertising of live animals for free is something I feel very strongly about. Dogs advertised in this way stand a good chance of being mistreated by uninformed owners or even used as bait for dog fighting. On the flip side, someone may end up with an animal who is being rehomed for behaviour that may cause serious problems, because the advertiser just wants rid and isn't prepared to have their animal assessed by a reputable rescue organisation who could avoid this.

Yes, see your point. If you see the ad again, could you let us know pls?

@lurcherlover

I've just seen Aptimel again...

Where did you see it? Which topic?

lurcherlover · 18/04/2013 22:13

Chat - it came up when I clicked a thread I'm on there (best toys for a 6 month old).

Thanks. We did think we'd taken it down - I'll try to find out what's happened.

HelenMumsnet · 18/04/2013 22:18

One more Q: was it the "banner" ad at the top? Or a type-only ad down the side?

lurcherlover · 18/04/2013 22:20

The one at the top, over the MN logo. I'm on an iPhone if that's relevant.

OP posts:
HelenMumsnet · 19/04/2013 10:30

OK. We think we've blocked this one.

If anyone sees it today, though, please shout PDQ!

lurcherlover · 19/04/2013 14:34

It's still showing on Chat today!

Oh blimey apologies.
If you are able to take a screen shot - press the menu button (the one below the screen) and the power/lock button simultaneously - and mail it to us at [email protected] that would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks

lurcherlover · 19/04/2013 14:58

I will try!

I've also just seen the aptamil/ aptaclub one, I've just been browsing in the property and DIY section, also on iPhone

If I see it again I'll do a screenshot.

HelenMumsnet · 19/04/2013 15:19

Thanks MrsLynam - think we've got it now.

Thank you all - nice teamwork!
