Auto correct in the Add Message box

Hiya

last few days I've noticed my typos being corrected while I'm typing a message on here. I'm running windows on a desktop, and don't have any spellcheckers I know of - though could be a windows thing? I'm not techy so don't know.

I wish I could turn it orf though. It keeps spelling Tennant as tenant and I am on Broadchurch threads. [sad face]

anyone know?

Erm, as far as I know we're not supplying any auto-correct gizmos to MN - certainly aren't any coming up for me.

Is this still happening for you, Mandragora?

MandragoraWurzelstock · 17/04/2013 13:07

Yes all the time! Thanks for replying Helen. I appreciate it.

I'm getting a spellcheck - it underlines things in red, but if I just type two letters back to front, say 'trem' instead of 'term' I look up and as I watch it it swaps them round.

And it appears to remove letters too like in Tennant as I said.

Weird - must be a rogue windows update maybe? If anyone can shed light I'd be most grateful, I'm a good speller so it's v annoying! Smile

Hi MW, have you by any chance just upgraded to Internet Explorer version 10? I think that does some autocorrecting in web forms.

Not deliberately! But I will check - thankyou for the suggestion.
